"NOW"... I *just* HAVE to FIND ONE-*more* MATCHING-DYE-LOT-BALL of the DARK GREY! -- I only managed to Grab the LAST-FOUR that were still On-Shelf at MICHAEL'S the Other Day. It's DOUBTFUL that there are ANY OTHERS "in Back"...

It's been *some* Time since I've Purchased THAT-COLOUR, so Chances of Me actually "having" ONE to correspond are going to be considerably SLIM! -- BUT, I'll go DIGGING into *MY* "THE ROOM", *anyway*!

Besides, I still have to come up with TWO-BALLS of the LIGHTER GREY that I had wanted to Use... -- There had only been ONE of *that* HUE "LEFT" at the Store!

We're "suppose" to GET some RAIN finally - ANY Time from NOW... Or, WHEN I'm in the *MIDDLE* of Something IMPORTANT! Got DENTIST Appointments... The "WHIRLWIND" that is My SISTER, is Coming to Town! -- She'll have a "DAY" to Prep the NEXT BRIDAL SHOWER!

And then, THEY'll ALL be OFF to "VEGAS" for "THE WEDDING"...

However, there are also OTHER THINGS "going on" around Here... So. The "MERRY-GO-ROUND" that is MY "LIFE" won't likely be Slowing-Down UNTIL *JULY*!! -- maybe... I *HOPE*!!

HAPPY Dark-Chocolate-Roses-I-Could-Do-With-A-*HOT*-DATE DAY!!

AS IT *MIGHT* take My Mind OFF of My ACHES right now!! ..oww... My Finger Tips HURT!!

And, "..WHY?..", You ask... Well, *because*, I spent THREE HOURS - mostly in an intermittent fine RAIN - SCRAPING AN INCH THICK LAYER OF FROZEN SLUSH OFF MY DRIVEWAY!!  WHILST, **BAILING** OUT THE INCOMING "TIDE" THREATENING TO FLOOD THE GARAGE!!

I might have been able to knock off an Hour and perhap had a chance to work on MADAME-Q's Side, as well... HOWEVER, the Roadway SEWER GRATE that's about 10-Feet from the Lane is UNDER the METER high GLACIER!! Oh, and the Roadway slopes UP... Our CURB EDGE is making like a DIKE at the Moment!

There was FREEZING RAIN all Night, TEMPS were about 2C. Between the RAIN and MELT WATER, it's a GOOD thing that I've been keeping on top of the Snow Removal, or else, it really would have been a LOT worse!!

I didn't STOP until the TEMPS started to Drop and Snow started coming down... Just BEFORE the
WIND began Gusting quite badly! Now, We have a "FLASH-FREEZING" Thing going on. Later into the Afternoon, when FATHER put out the Weekly Garbage, He did a bit more "Scraping"... It'll probably be an Ice Rink by Tomorrow!

SO!? How was YOUR "VALENTINE'S DAY"...? - I probably ate TOO many of My Dark CHOCOLATE CHIPS... But, at this Point, *ask* Me IF I *care*!!

Seriously. I really could have used getting THE CUTE MAILMAN Today! Better yet, some Strapping COAST GUARD Types to "Rescue" Me from THE CANAL! -- You know...just saying...

Getting Back to "IT"

AFTER, spending the better part of the Day taking My Stock Portfolio on a little Shopping
"Spree" - some "Investments" had finally become "liquid", enabling Me to "RE"invest them *elsewhere*... - I decided that I *should* get AT My TO DO GIFT LIST!

Besides, the Blanket for LITTLE PRINCESS BIG-RED - which I *still* have to dig out the Colours for! - I thought that I should take another "look", at the PATTERN CHARTS that I had previously sketched out for PRINCESS PRE-TEEN. *Inspired* to have a go at it from a different Perspective, I've at last come up with a *new* DESIGN!

She wanted THESE Colours - NOT *My* particular favourite "combo", but, it IS Her Blanket... And, it *had* to have a PEACE SIGN! Again, not My first choice... WHEN, *I* was Her AGE back "THEN", I had always felt that ITS use was being Fashionably OVER-DONE!

But, hey, it's *what* The COOL KIDS are INto these Days...

Anyway... it took Me a while to FIND the Yarn! I couldn't remember WHERE I had put the BROWN! It took at least two Exploratory DIGS into THE ROOM to Locate it!!
-- Alas, SUCCESS!! And, NOW, I *must* GET started!

BUT... I've still got STUFF to DO! ...ggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.....

You know, TIME "MANAGEMENT"... IS a MYTH! Then, toss in THINGS that DON'T arrive in The MAIL when they should, PEOPLE *out* of Their Offices, FATHER - [because He just has This "GIFT"
to do so] - screwing up MOTHER's "Schedule" - hence, MINE... The ONLY positive Factor was that The Weather HELD! -- But, don't hang on to THAT little "Bubble" for too long... THE PIN could strike at *any* Time!

Hopefully, the "Saturday" Stuff can get done without TOO much difficulty! I've got TONS to do on Monday - IF - Things arrive, People show up, adequate Parking is to be had...

In the meantime... I hate leaving You Guys with the BORING mundane bits of My Life. Especially,
without PICS! So. I thought I'd give You a TASTE of My NEXT "Planned" Project... To be "started", WHENEVER I can get INTO The ROOM and "extricate" the Needed COLOURS that I plan on USING!

I'll put out a FLIGHT PLAN when I do -- just in case, I miss a POSTING... I may need to be RESCUED!

Anyhoo... HERE it is...

Just a quick little DESIGN TEMPLATE of LITTLE PRINCESS BIG-RED's Room... THEY're in a "Rental", so there's only "so much" that THEY can do with The Space. At the Top, is My "current" PATTERN CHART - the actual COLOUR Shades will likely end up varying... Depends on what I can
"mine" from YARN MOUNTAIN!

..Preppy Perusing...

DESPITE My intentions to go OUT -Today - and tend to various Grocery needs, FATHER insisted on bearing that Task with MOTHER, instead. -- He LIKES to get OUT of the House - with HIS Car... Seeing as, MOTHER and I have slightly different PLANS for Tomorrow regarding the USE of said Vehicle!

It'll likely be a quick STOP&SHOP at a Church Bazaar, and then, off to the NATIONAL WOMEN'S SHOW. A semi-annual Event, currently being housed over at LANSDOWNE PARK. Thankfully, the next SPRING SHOW will be back Downtown at the newly RE-built OTTAWA CONVENTION CENTRE. That had always been a *much* NICER and, larger Venue. It's also attached to the RIDEAU CENTRE MALL...

Anyway, We like to go for the FREE STUFF! Sample the Foods... TRY to Win the GIFT BASKETS... Maybe do the odd bit of NETWORKING when ever the opportunity arises. Oh, and then, there's the giant FALL FLEA MARKET going on in one of the Other PARK Buildings. Usually more over-priced "Antiques" over there, but, at least IT'S FREE Admission! -- NWS is a bit on the high side considering the Current Location.

Occasionally, I get lucky and find the odd Curio to add to My plethora of Collections... As I recall, I acquired a couple of lovely Amethyst HAZELWARE "Colony" Bowls at the earlier SPRING FLEA MARKET. -- I believe They have it at the SAME Time as the NWS to keep The GUYS "busy" with
"The Kids".

Whatever, it promises to be a LOOONG Day!!

Meanwhile, Today, I caught up with some CyberWork. Checked out the Happenings over on TWEETSVILLE. And, did some "research"...

Remember the BUTCHER-BLOCK TABLE/CART from last Saturday that I purchased for $5.? Well, My suspicions were correct! It IS an IKEA Piece - $59.99!

I also spent time, perusing My DIGITAL Copy of the November STYLE AT HOME - should get the HARD Copy early Next Week. Was seeing a Lot of CHAIRS in There...

However, it DID give Me some Colour/Design inspiration!


There was a ROOM, done up in BLACK, WHITE, and RED...  The "LINES" in the Space steered Me toward using My "LATTICE-PLAID" PATTERN.  As well, a lot of the PRE-Holiday Decor was sporting a WHITE and TURQUOISE mix, along side of the Traditional WHITE and RED.

Here's WHAT I came up with!

Well, here's WHAT I bought Yesterday! Actually, there are several MORE Packages - THESE are just the COLOUR Selection. And the Two on the Right, are a touch or so, LIGHTER in Tone than what's showing in the Pic.

In the meantime, I've given Them the Colour Designation of RED, VERMILL, TANG-WASH, and PINK-WASH - for Now...

Hmm... They DO seem to look good TOGETHER, don't They? -- I'll have to pick out a PATTERN that will Compliment Them properly... How about THIS One. It's called "T-SQUARE" - haven't had a chance to USE It yet...

Yeah... The more I LOOK at This, the MORE It GROWS on Me...

SO. The "Kid" SISTER has put another Year under Her Belt.. HA! Already BEEN There, AGED through THAT! -- But, then again... She HAS been dealing with the Newly "Retired" HUBBY and the "Problematic" PROGENY! ..I suppose, at the end of the Day, the Elderly PARENTAL-UNITS really *aren't* THAT "Troublesome"... MOST of the Time...

Meanwhile, I thought I'd "Celebrate" the DAY with a smattering of "DESIGN"... And, I wanted Something for TODAY'S Post that would be SIMPLE. SHORT. NOT Time "Consuming"!

...uh-huh...

You know, going over "CODE" - when You really DON'T "know" it - truly, IS a PAIN! Hopefully, THIS will end up looking half decent... I've got TWO *NEW* TV Shows to WATCH Tonight!!

Have I mentioned the Part about NOT having Watched ANY Evening TV in MONTHS..?!!

YEP! -- What can I say... "REALITY" - slash - "TALENT-less" Programming, just DOESN'T *DO IT* for Me!

ANYWAY... to get Back ON Subject... I've come up with THESE 3 PATTERNS for Both SIZES of My BLANKETS. A couple of THEM were DESIGNS that I've noticed around in OTHER Places during the last Week or so. In fact, the "PINHOLE" One... After spotting It the FIRST time and thinking that It would be "worthy" of Using, I spotted It AGAIN... ON A BATHROOM FLOOR!

Definitely, a "SIGN" from The DESIGN GODS!!

PLAID! You're "IT"!!

IN THIS Morning's Newspaper, I came across a "Fashion" Article regaling the "Latest" Attributes of PLAID!  And, with a few "Comments" on It being the "unofficial" National Pattern of CANADA... In particular, the Classic LUMBERJACK Plaid. -- It's "OUR" take on TARTAN.

And, almost like ARGYLE, It never really "goes away"... at least, in THIS Country!

Hey! LOOK! I've got PLAID!

The "LATTICE-PLAID" Pattern is one of Several variations I have that has Yet to be Created. But, some day I'm sure, it'll GET done!

"HIGHLANDER" - Done in UMBER, SAND, RED, and IVORY in the 5x7 Square Size. And, is STILL Available. The Larger [6x8] version of This Colour-Combo is currently Residing in ENGLAND.

"TICTAC BLUE" - Done in BLUE WHITE, DENIM, and NAVY, with FRENCH BLUE Trim, in 6x8. This One, is Snuggling away in Toronto!

Some *NEW* Patterns -- And, I Survived My FIRST Week!!

BTW, remember that current Blanket that I'm - still - working on [SEE 18JULY2010 Post]?  Well, *another* CLUE... I used ONE of these Patterns!  Hopefully, I can get the thing finished tonight... Ran into a bit of a "snag" last evening, as in, with just about a dozen stitches left to go - I  RAN **OUT** OF THE COLOUR!! 

**HATE**  when THAT happens!!!

So. Now...  Have to "undo" that section, tighten up my Tension a tad, and HOPE, that I can retrieve the length I need!  Otherwise, I'll have to backtrack some more...  And then, I have the last bit of Tailings to weave in... Whatever, at least 2, maybe 3 hours of work...
