Damn! Had I KNOWN, I *would* have DROVE instead of "BUSING"-IT! - But, then again, I would have been in TRAFFIC, *with* the SUN-IN-MY-EYES-THE-WHOLE-WAY-HOME!

Anyhoo... The OFFICE was within "Sight" of the PLACE D'ORLEANS MALL, which I haven't been to in well *over* a year! - [SEE 14JUL2012 POST] - There's a NEW "TARGET" now in place of the OLD "ZELLERS". -- Very Spacious... Although, NO YARN! - Hence, IT *won't* be on My *MUST*-SHOP-*THERE*!-LIST...

The ONLY Purchase I did make, was at ECKO -- I *needed* a NEW "RHINO-BAG"!! - At $2. a pop, I got THREE!

MEANWHILE, despite My reasonably "Healthy"-EYES, I'm still pretty much *BLIND*! -- I probably really *should* LIGHT a Few *more* CANDLES in the "WORKSHOP"... If *only* to keep THE ELVES from Filing any Workplace-COMPLAINTS...

AND, SOME FITTING "PURCHASES"...

So. The YEAR ended on a CLOUDY note, with the odd little SNOW-FLURRY... However, on the UP-side, NO "visits" from EVIL-SNOWPLOW-GUY! And, the TRASH-GUYS came by *just* BEFORE I needed to Leave for COSTCO!

I had been wondering about WHERE I could put those GARBAGE CANS within Reach of Pick-up and NOT Back-up OVER Them! -- Ah... "TIMING", gotta Love IT! -- To be sure, I gave CUTE-TRASH-GUY My profound THANKS!

COSTCO was just slightly less *crazy* than what I had Expected! A few more "Take-Home"-Food-Samples were to be had... Got the USUAL-STUFF and picked-up the "WORLD WITHOUT END" DVDs. - IT seemed to work with that whole END-of-the-YEAR-Thingy...

Meanwhile, seeing as I *was* "Close-By", I decided to pop into HOMESENSE... Where, I spotted THESE GUYS!!

ONE was just peeping out amongst a Clutter of Other-Stuff... Then, I noticed ITS Buddy further down the Shelf, *hiding*! -- $10.-Each -- THEY'd been Marked-Down TWICE! Definitely, a "ZEN"-Buy!!

Anyhoo... THEY're 8-Inches High, on a 4.5 by 10-Inch Base. And, Made of what I suspect is likely PLASTER..? Or, some THIN-CERAMIC - possibly even a Lower-Quality PORCELAIN, perhaps..?? Although, still "Weighty". -- Granted, THEY're *not* in "ALABASTER", but nevertheless, would still LOOK absolutely Stunning on a SLATE FIREPLACE-HEARTH, or MANTLE-PIECE!?

Whatever... I totally LOVE THEM!!

MEANWHILE, I "Celebrated" the *Appearance* of THE SUN with a Couple of Hours of SHOVELLING! -- ALL of that ANNOYING "POWDERY" Stuff from Yesterday... Thankfully, IT was just a FEW Inches worth and LIGHT, however the rather NIPPY-WINDS certainly *didn't* exactly "HELP" with ITS Removal!

And, "oh look!" at WHAT the EVIL-SNOWPLOW-GUY *LEFT* for Me!! -- I soooo "ENJOY"-*NOT* Digging-OUT the End of My Laneway in the SETTING SUNLIGHT!!

Tomorrow is GARBAGE-DAY *and* I have to go GROCERY-GETTING... I had better NOT *have-to* BURROW My way OUT! -- Got STUFF to DO! And, a *BUSY* Week ahead with PLACES to BE...

After *3-HOURS* of doing JUST the Driveway and about a Quarter of THE WALL, I gave UP! Besides, IT was DARK OUT by THEN!

 

Actually, I probably SHOULD have Started *EARLIER* BEFORE the TEMPS went UP and the BIG-FAT-FLUFFY-GUSTING-FLAKES had PILED-UP! Once I had gotten OUT, the WINDS had died down and there was DRIZZLE. Along with, CLUMPS of MELTING-TREE-SNOW Dropping all about like HAIL! - On the Ground, 8-INCHES of SLUSHY-WET-CEMENT-PACK-SNOW...

 

I'm **LUCKY** that I DIDN'T "Break" any of My SHOVELS!! - I could only PUSH about 2-Feet at a Time before the "SNUSH" would *STICK*! -- I kept half-Expecting for some "SUBMARINE" to *SURFACE* from the Numerous "KEYHOLES" I was making! About a HALF-HOUR in, I finally *FOUND* THE CURB!!

 

Surprisingly, *only* about 2-Feet of DEBRIS was actually ON "OUR" Lane. HOWEVER, the Remainder of THE WALL was about 2 to 3-Feet HIGH and EXTENDED another 6-Feet or MORE into the "PARKING-LANE". LOTS of MASSIVE-CHUNKY-FROZEN-SNUSH-BOULDERS that only a "BOBCAT" - [THE 1st "TOY" I get IF I ever Strike IT RICH with the LOTTERIES! -- Ooo! FINALLY WON $7. Today! Now I can Start to SAVE-UP!] - would Love to "Play" with!

You know, the more I Think on IT, I'm actually quite BUMMED by the *LACK* of ANNIHILATION-ness. *IF* THE ELVES don't do AWAY with THE WALL "OVER-Night", I'm still going to be STUCK with *MORE* SHOVELLING and *sans* SHOP-FARI-ing...

On, to THE MALL for some Needed ON-SALE-THIS-WEEK GROCERIES. -- ah! I've Discovered a NEW and LESS-Expensive "SOURCE" for My KRILL-OIL Capsules! - [YAY!!]

We made a "PIT-STOP" at the HOUSE to Unload the FROZEN-FOOD, then subsequently headed for the ST.LAURENT SHOPPING MALL.


DESERRES had a SALE, which *included* Their Supply of  PATONS
"Classic Wool"...

HOWEVER, even AT the "SALE-PRICE", IT was *still* MORE than the "REGULAR-PRICE" at MICHAEL'S!! -- BUT... DESERRES *does* have Several DIFFERENT Colours!


MOTHER *actually* INSISTED that I GET at least ONE! -- THIS CORAL-esque Shade
"Complimented" the OTHER COLOURS the *most*.

SEARS was the LAST Stop of Our MALL-MEANDERINGS, with a "certain" *GARMENT*
Purchase... [IT's a LIGHT-BLUE. And, that ALL I'm going to "Say"!!]

One more Stop at PIER ONE - [THEY've got Lots of *WICKED* HALLOWE'EN and AUTUMN STUFF] - then *finally*, HOME!!

"RHINO"-BAG - As I was in NEED of a LIGHT-Weight-Water-PROOF SATCHEL for My Foray to "DOWNTOWN", and IT did - kind of -  "Match" My CHARCOAL-BLACK RAINCOAT!!


Thankfully, IT was slightly COOLER out, so that I *could* Wear the RAINCOAT. - I find UMBRELLAS to be annoyingly "Cumbersome" on BUSES.





Anyway, I ended up Leaving the HOUSE Later than I had Intended to... AGAIN! - Also, had to Walk in the DRIZZLE to the Main Road to Catch the OTHER BUS. Grabbed BUS #2 at THE BIG MALL, with NO Time to "SHOP"!

Once DOWNTOWN, I *was* going to board BUS #3, however, IT was rather OVER-Crowded... And, by then, the COAT was getting a tad Stuffy to Wear any where "INSIDE".
-- I decided to WALK the 7 or so BLOCKS to GET to Where I HAD to BE... Besides, I could do with the "Exercise"!

AS IT TURNED OUT, when I got "THERE", I still had to WAIT for almost a HALF-HOUR! -- So GLAD that I had Brought along My Just-Arrived-In-The-Morning-MAIL-Latest-New-DECOR-MAG that was still nice and DRY in My "Zippered"-RHINO-BAG!!

AFTERWARD, I had just enough Time LEFT on My BUS TRANSFER to get over to The RIDEAU-CENTRE... *TO*, end up BUYING **MORE** ON-SALE-CLOTHES-That-I-DON'T-*Really*-NEED-But...-I-Had-A-"DISCOUNT-Coupon"-About-To-EXPIRE-And-There-Was-An-ADDITIONAL-30%-OFF...

IT was *another* over-90F Scorcher! WITH, a "Bonus" SOLAR-STORM rumoured to be hitting THE PLANET!? -- [NOTE-to-UNIVERSE: We asked for "RAIN", NOT *RADIATION*!!] -- Hence, a profound Absence of YARD SALES...

However, not a Problem as MOTHER wanted to go over to the Other FABRICLAND in ORLEANS. She had a GIFT-VOUCHER that She'd "Won" a few Months back that Expires at the End of JULY. Although Larger, Our Local Store didn't have WHAT She wanted. -- Besides, We haven't been There for quite some Time...

And then, further on, near BEACON HILL, some "CAMPER-RV" had *very* recently caught FIRE!! - I didn't really see MUCH as I was just a tad BUSY-DRIVING-TO-AVOID-IDIOT-PEOPLE... Don't know if Anyone was Injured. Hope not.

Meanwhile, at THE MALL, the Grocery-Store had CAKE!! -- MOTHER was getting a bit Peckish...

BTW, "YELLOW-ICING" does get EVERYWHERE!! -- just saying...

Despite the Scorching-Sunlight, a Perfect-Day for the usual SATURDAY-SALE-SCAVENGE! Thankfully, most of the Humidity had been blown away by the brief, yet *quite* VIOLENT, STORMLINE that swept through the Local Area just after Dinner Last Night. - [a Teenager died from a Lightning-Strike!]

We actually had a "TORNADO-WATCH" WARNING! - Not a common occurrence in These Parts. We get some Severe-Wind-Storms, but Twisters are a bit Rare... Anyway, We had several Inches of Flash-RAIN, but IT drained off soon enough. I think a few of Our LILAC Bushes got beat-up though.

Whatever... BEACON HILL was having a "Community" YARD-SALE Day..?

-- You know, I remember the Days when THAT meant Every-Other-House had a Sale!! - "NOW"

My initial intention was to give IT to SISTER - since She likes Wolves - however, *IF* IT doesn't

On the way Back to The CAR, MOTHER spotted what, I thought, was just a bit of a folded
"brochure"..?? - After I got Her into The VEHICLE, I went back to IT - if *only* to Satisfy Her Curiosity... Well, as IT turned out, IT was SOMEONE'S *PASSPORT*!! - A "Foreign" one.

Which, had NO Contact Info! Anyway, on the chance that Said Owner was *still* IN the Mall, I left IT with the "Saturday-Manager" of the Pharmacy - since, it was Their Parking-Area. And, the most "secure" Store that was Open! -- The Bank and the "Government" Departments housed there weren't...

Meanwhile, We still had further THINGS-TO-DO-PLACES-TO-BE!!
