Anyway, a MOOT-Point *now*, as SOME-OTHER-YOUNG-WOMAN Latched-On to IT *before* I could get BACK to IT...

oh, well... I suppose I've Saved Myself from *certain* BLINDNESS for a bit Longer, so that "SOMEDAY", I might to able to DO "Something" with the Piece of COTTON FABRIC that I *did* BUY...

The CLOTH is somewhat "THIN"-nish... BUT, might hold-up IF IT were "CROSS-STITCH"-*QUILTED* to some THICKER "Backing"..? -- IT would be a rather Interesting, if not, TIME-CONSUMING "ENDEAVOUR"! -- *SOME*-Day...

Still a tad Pricey at just Under $2. even *with* the SENIORS'-DISCOUNT - but, I Liked the Colour!

SEEING AS I HAD AN ERRAND TO RUN, OVER IN BEACON HILL...

...I thought that I would keep My "SHOP-fari"-PLANS along the Route from THERE to HERE! -- As well as, TAKE a bit of Time to BROWSE...

The "Local"-Branch of FABRICLAND will apparently be CLOSING "soon"... Hence, a "SALE" or Two is to be had... sorta...

However, I found that "PICKINGS" were somewhat on the UN-impressive side to My Likings.

In the end, I only came away with THESE TWO PIECES at $3. per Meter...

The BOTTOM-One is just over a METER of a COTTON-LINEN Blend. - Last of the Bolt...

There was more of the ABOVE-One, but I only got 2-Meters... IT's a Light-Weight COTTON FLANNEL. -- I was drawn to the "STITCH"-Pattern... Actually, I'm almost TEMPTED to REcreate IT!!

A Run through The SALLY-ANN, snagged Me FOUR of THESE BLUE-WHITE SAUCERS from ENGLAND at 59-Cents-Each.

-- I Searched for the *Matching*-CUPS, but They weren't to be Found. - pooh!



WHATEVER, I just rather Liked the SIMPLICITY, and UNDER-Glazing of the BLUE...

"Bargain"-JADED by **FREE** STUFF!!

A **FREE** YARD-SALE..??!! - hmm... Gonna be NO Space LEFT in My CAR, once MOTHER gets DONE!

right. so... IT's *THE* "PERFECT" Day OUT! - SUNNY. With, just the Pleasant-Proper-TEMPS! -- And of course, We LEFT the HOUSE *LATE*!! Nevertheless, We scooted on over to BEACON HILL with "hopes" that there might be *some* YARD-SALES still "OPEN"..?

ah! "SIGNS"!! -- But, WHY does *THAT*-One say "FREE"?? -- whatever... We whipped on over!

Only a couple of Tables remaining, HOWEVER, EVERYTHING on Them *was* actually FREE!! -- The RATHER-GENEROUS-FOLKS there were apparently doing some serious DOWN-sizing!

We took a LOOK around to "Assist" THEM in That-EFFORT and, to give THEIR *STUFF* a "GOOD-HOME"!

COOL! -- I've been Hoping to come across One of THESE! And, This GLASS CEILING-LAMP-SHADE really is an Older ONE! - IT still has the Original BRASS CHAINS - [these are actually in Backward so that They wouldn't slip out] - Although, THEY need to be Replaced, as I really wouldn't "trust" Their Condition to handle the GLASS-Weight any longer. Otherwise, the 12-Inch SHADE is in GREAT-Shape!!

I already have a Couple of Similar Textured-BOWLS in GREEN... Can't remember seeing One in YELLOW before... However, the SUNFLOWER Motif is quite Nice -- IT's almost a shame to actually put Anything INTO the BOWL to "cover" IT up!

And then, there was This Little CHINESE TEA-CUP... Just a cheap itty-bitty-Thing, but, IT *was* "BLUE & WHITE"... AND, oh yeah, *FREE*! - Besides, how could I say "no" to the Cool DRAGON on the Bottom?!

Anyhoo, MOTHER gathered a Bunch of OTHER Glassy ITEMS that I had passed on... And, also had Her Eye on a Small DESK..? - *Fortunately*, IT would NOT "FIT" into The CAR, thus, was subsequently, *SAVED* from being SUBJECTED to an UNworthy FATE on Our PORCH!!

EVENTUALLY, We took Our Now-"SPENDING"-*SPOILED*-Selves away to the NEXT "SALE"...

WHICH, I will Elaborate on TOMORROW! -- As, I *still* have to go THROUGH My PRIMARY-PURCHASE to Checkout exactly "WHAT" and how MUCH that I **GOT**!?! -- NOT to Worry though, IT was a GREAT-"DEAL", despite *not* being "FREE"!

"THE VEHICLE" is Several YEARS old, but We really don't TRAVEL Great Distances with IT, hence, the "LOW"-Mileage... If the TEMPS weren't so CHILLY, I would have had IT "Washed" to Celebrate! -- nah. Who am I kidding? *Maybe* WHEN IT hits 50K... *IF* IT's SUMMER!

So... The "EVENT" occurred as We Arrived at MICHAEL'S. -- hmm... I *did* Buy some BIG-RIBBON There. Perhaps, I *should* have Made a "BOW"..? - [nah. IT's just not a "BOW" kind of Car..]

Anyway, there was another of those TIME-LIMITED-"20%-OFF-ENTIRE-PURCHASE"-SALES again. Which We actually showed-up ON-TIME for. For ONCE! - However, there really wasn't all THAT Much to GET...

An Observation that I found quite Puzzling, as I had SEEN the BOXES of *NEW* STOCK Last Tuesday. Hopefully, the CONTENTS are still *Awaiting* to be PUT-OUT..? -- Although, I did *happen* to catch a PEEK of a Display-Carousel FULL of "MARTHA STEWART CRAFTS" MERINO in the STOCK-ROOM as I Waited for MANAGER-DAVE to come out...

He was a tad more than His usual-BUSY, so I only had Time to give Him His CHRISTMAS "Presents" and "Chat" for a COUPLE of Minutes before He had to "MANAGER"-OFF... Not a Problem, as I had to go FIND MOTHER and carry-on with REST of Our SHOP-EDITIONS! -- I'll likely be back on Tuesday anyway...

Whatever... HERE's WHAT I GOT...

The BIG-RIBBON was *already* 70%-OFF *JUST* for Today, then PLUS the Other-DISCOUNT! - THOSE were the ONLY "PURPLE" Ones I could Find! Would have LIKED *MORE*... There were Several Other NICE-"SHINY"-ONES, but I just DON'T *DO* "GLITTER"!

And, ONE can NEVER have *ENOUGH* "TINS"!!

Oh, and MOTHER Found the WHITE-CERAMIC-BALL-ORNAMENT for Me... Apparently, there had only been a Couple LEFT. She's *keeping* The-OTHER!

We popped into WALMART for a bit... Was way LESS Busy than I had Expected IT to be! -- Actually, "OVERALL", TRAFFIC *and* the HOLIDAY-SHOPPING-MASSES were quite surprisingly on the BELOW-AVERAGE side for a SUNNY-SECOND-LAST-SATURDAY-BEFORE-CHRISTMAS!!

IT did make Me "Wonder" as to *WHERE* THEY all WERE!? -- NOT that I'm "COMPLAINING"! - THEY're probably *saving* THEMSELVES for *NEXT* WEEKEND!!

WHILE, IT was *still* DAYLIGHT, We FINALLY got over to PIER-ONE! And, spent almost an Hour "INHALING" the DECOR-ness... And, Chatted-Up the PRETTY-FELLOW-AQUARIAN-SALES-CLERK for probably Longer than We should have!

Between "Paragraphs", I Found THIS SET of BLUE & WHITE PORCELAIN MEASURING-CUPS that were on "CLEARANCE"...


ONE of These DAYS, I might just *have* to LEARN *HOW* to COOK! -- hmm... THESE would "GO" *PERFECTLY* with My BURLEIGH CANISTERS! - [SEE 03AUG2010 POST]

- nuts... I probably SHOULD have Bought the OTHER SET that was Left, too..? THEY really *are* NICE! -- I'll have to "remember" to GO BACK on Tuesday and GET THEM! THEY'll make a Great GIFT... And, I know exactly WHO *for*!

We eventually FINISHED the DAY at THE MALL... And, Shopped the "USUAL-SUSPECTS"... Also, MOTHER finally "Acquired" ONE of Her *much* sought after ANNUAL-*FREE*-"LARGE"-SIZE-MALL-SHOPPING-BAG!! - IT was the LAST ONE in that Size. So, She's *HAPPY* Now! - [THANK YOU!]

"Pickings" weren't all THAT *Special*. - INSTEAD, We high-tailed it on over to MICHAEL'S for one of Their "4-HOUR-20%-OFF-YOUR-ENTIRE-PURCHASE" SALES!!

The BAD NEWS - My FAV PATONS "Classic Wool" is ON-SALE again for $4.99, which means I CAN'T *use* My 40%-OFF-COUPONS - [$4.19] - on IT!

The GOOD NEWS - With that "4-HOUR-SALE", I can get IT down to $3.99!

The EVEN BETTER **GREAT** NEWS - Earlier, I had noticed
in the FLYER - [What, MANAGER-DAVE had made a passing comment about to Me on Thursday, but hadn't yet checked IT out...] - that PATONS had come out with this *BARGAIN* "5-BALL-PACK" for $19.99!?! -- So, with that 20%-DISCOUNT... $3.20-per-BALL!!

A most FORTUITOUS *Decision*!!

The Lovely LAVENDER 100%-COTTON CROCHET THREAD was 99-Cents [plus TAX] and the CHERRY 100%-ALPACA *LUX* YARN was only $1.99!!
