IT reminds Me of a Piece of MULTI-LAYERED-PAINTED WOOD that has been WEATHERED and SANDED away...

ALTHOUGH... "LATER" in the Evening, I was *struck* by some *CHROMO*-CRUNCHY-INSPIRATION!

Actually, to be Honest, I have Contemplated *THIS* "COLOUR-COMBO" Before. BUT, had never gotten around to APPLYING IT! -- Until, TONIGHT...

Recently, on a GROCERY-GETTING Trip to FARM-BOY, We had come across some "HEIRLOOM"-CARROTS...

THEY looked almost EDIBLE-ish - [*AFTER* a GOOD Scraping!] - And, Their Textured-PIGMENTATIONS were INTRIGUING... They ended up TASTING surprisingly *GOOD*, too!

-- hmm... DON'T I also just HAPPEN to have *YARN* in "THOSE" HUES..??!

SUCH AS, "CELEBRATING" **POST 1300** by sticking TWO More TOQUES onto the FANGS NEEDLES!!

HOWEVER, *had* the WEATHER been "NICE", I would NEVER have ended up in that PARTICULAR Section of WALMART to "DISCOVER" - [sitting on a couple of Shelves at the End of the Aisle in plain sight] - My Fab **BIRTHDAY-PRESENT**!!

oh. right! -- Did I mention that TODAY was My "BIRTHDAY"..? -- And, pretty much THE *only* REASON as to "WHY" I would RISK Driving in THESE WEATHER CONDITIONS?!

oh. Look. IT's been SQUALLING since 11am... So much for ANY Notions of heading over to TRAINYARDS. -- But, I'm sure that I can Find *enough* to keep Me "ENTERTAINED" over at THE-MALL..? *Besides*, IT's within WALKING-Distance - IN the EVENT of any "CAR-TROUBLES"...

Soooo... I managed to minimally SKID on over THERE...

WALMART was My First-Stop. And, for once, I was going to more *thoroughly* PERUSE the Place! -- As in, a Check of Their rather pitifully *SPARSE* "SEWING"-CRAFTS-Section...

With a FULL-Cart, I headed back to THE CAR to Dump My HOARD-of-HAPPINESS... As well as, to REMOVE the *FIRST* FOUR-INCHES of FLUFFY-FLAKES *cocooning* My VEHICLE! - [I would be glad of My Foresight later on!]

The BULK BARN was Next... seriously. What *IS* a BIRTHDAY-IN-A-SNOWSTORM without *Copious* AMOUNTS of "JUNK-FOOD", huh?!

...and, on to LOBLAWS... Where, I *needed* to Buy "Certain"-ITEMS in order to get "X"-MANY-Store-POINTS, so that, I could "CASH"-Them-IN for a GIFT-CARD that I'm going to NEED on TUESDAY!

However, because I spent *too* much Time doing THAT in the JOE FRESH Clothing-Section, I ended up MISSING-OUT on MOST of the FOOD-SAMPLINGS! - [pooh!] - LUCKILY, I managed to snag the LAST Portion of some really TASTY RICE & PORK from the SWEET-OLD-GERMAN-GUY! - Including, getting to "use" what barely remains of My considerably *Limited*-MANY-Decades-Old-"High-School"-GERMAN-Linguistic-"Knowledge"...

NUTS! -- The "POINTS" for the Clothing DIDN'T "show-up"!?! - [ggrrrr...] - Some CYBERness will be in order Later to Rectify THAT!

ahh... ANOTHER-4-INCHES-to-*SPEED*-BRUSH-*OFF*-of-THE-CAR so that I can SEE to *Slide* HOME!!

After a few bouts of "PONG"-MAIL with the COMPANY concerning the UNexpected Lack of SHIPPING "INFORMATION" - [hey. They tell You to Contact Them after "so" long...] - I *finally* GOT the "TRACKING NUMBERS"... *WHEN* I got HOME and Checked My "E-MAIL", *AFTER* Opening the PARCEL-in-QUESTION that had Arrived whilst I was OUT!

At least, that's ONE *LESS* Thing for Me to "worry" about! -- Except of course, the part about FINDING a "PLACE" to PUT IT!

Mind You, I am still just a bit "disappointed" over NOT getting that THIRD-COLOUR I had also ORDERED. - [Out of Stock] - Maybe "NEXT-TIME"..? However, THESE "DYE-LOTS" *do* MATCH the PREVIOUS-ORDER! So I *am* HAPPY about THAT!

oh. And, I am LOVING These 6.5mm "STAINLESS-STEEL" DOUBLE-POINT NEEDLES!

I'M GUESSING, NO ONE CAN GET *HERE* FROM "THERE"..?

The OTHER DAY, I "mentioned" that I had Bought some YARN. - ONLINE... My Fav PATONS "CLASSIC WOOL", at a *really* GREAT PRICE!! - Plus, FREE SHIPPING!

But, a bit of "BACKGROUND" first...

Apparently, in the Past Year, NORTH AMERICAN Yarn Companies PATONS, BERNAT, CARON, and LILY decided to "pool" Their MARKETING - [or Whatever] - RESOURCES together under a Site called "YARNSPIRATIONS", which is Based out of CANADA's primary Yarn-"Country" in The-MIDDLE-of-NOWHERE-ONTARIO...

I suppose IT works for Them... Although, *Personally*, there are aspects of this New-Arrangement that I'm not really all that *fond* of. - But, THAT's *My* "problem". So far...

Anyway... There's this BIG SALE going on, on "Select" YARNS... Thankfully, that included the CLASSIC WOOL! - However, *only* in a Handful of Colours... Otherwise, I WOULD have Bought a **LOT** More at THAT Price!!

So... I placed My ORDER on the 21st. Got an Order-Confirmation quickly enough - telling Me to Wait for a "SHIPPING"-Confirmation to Verify that EVERYTHING I "Ordered" was actually "IN STOCK"... However, Said "CONFIRMATION" didn't show up until the 26th! -- When IT did, I got a "TRACKING NUMBER" from a Major COURIER COMPANY and the notice that THE PARCEL had been *Sent Out* on the 24th!

okay.. That's all within *Reason*, considering that there's likely Lots of Orders since it was a BIG SALE.

Meanwhile though, due to "HIGH VOLUME", I had NOT been able to ascertain ANY further INFORMATION regarding THE PARCEL from the COURIER COMPANY other than the TRACKING NUMBER! - Until, THIS Evening [29th]...

Up until this point, I didn't even know from *WHERE* IT was being Shipped *FROM*!?

And, IF I'm reading it right, GRAND RAPIDS, "MICHIGAN" appears to be the "POINT-of-ORIGIN"... Where, IT's been SITTING for a FEW DAYS until being Sent to DES PLAINES, "ILLINOIS"!?? - Today! -- And, is Now suppose to be PASSED ON to a CANADIAN COURIER COMPANY..??


okay, EVERYONE, Grab a MAP of NORTH AMERICA. In particularly, of the area around The GREAT LAKES... I'll wait...


Find OTTAWA first - way to the EAST... Between TORONTO and MONTREAL. Now, DES PLAINES is a "suburb" of CHICAGO. Bottom WEST side of LAKE MICHIGAN - [the droopy Middle Lake] - and, GRAND RAPIDS is a third way up the EAST side of the LAKE... *IN* the "State" of MICHIGAN. Closer to DETROIT. Which, is *on* THE U.S.-CANADA BORDER!! -- Not to mention, to the *EAST* and also *CLOSER* than CHICAGO!?

PEOPLE! - IT's a Box of "YARN", *NOT* a "NEW CAR"!!

You know, DESPITE the Fact that I *still* don't HAVE THE PARCEL *yet*, that "FREE SHIPPING" part is looking better and better! -- Although, whether or not I'll end up having to PAY any "DUTY-CUSTOM"-FEES remains a Mystery!!
