DAY FIVE -- Well..??

IT'S BEEN A LOONNNGGGG DAY!! -- Delays... NO SLEEP!  RAIN!! -- But, We're *PAST* the SCARY-BITS...

And, *EVERYONE* is HOME now...

*HOW* To "SNEAK" YARN *INTO* The House In PLAIN-VIEW: 101

FIRST -- Make sure that "THEY" do NOT "Know How To" and/or *ever* will READ THIS POST!!

SECOND -- It *REALLY* HELPS if the Store that You are "Acquiring" Said YARN *from*, ALSO just "happens" to have LARGE-*STORAGE*-CONTAINERS "ON-SALE"!!

THIRD -- Be sure - or at least, TRY - to NOT Buy *too* much so that the WEIGHT of Your
"Purchase" GIVES AWAY the "ILLUSION" of an EMPTY Container!!

FOURTH -- **FIND** an UNobtrusive Location for Said CONTAINER, *quickly*!! - "Out-of-SIGHT-*OUT*-of-Mind"!!

Got ONE of EACH - except, for 2 of the RIGHT-STANDING One and 4-Each of the 2 LEFT-STANDING Ones. -- The WHITE One is actually of a more OPAL-PEARLish Hue...

So. WALMART has **FINALLY** gotten some NEW BIG COTTON-YARN BALLS in!!
-- AND, They also *slightly* LOWERED the PRICE!! AS IF, I needed ANY *more* INCENTIVE! Got 14 BALLS...

oh. look! -- The STORAGE CHESTS are "ON-SALE"... Oooo! And, I even Like the COLOURS!

I went with the AQUA-BLUE - [actually more Turquoise than in the Pic] - instead of the APPLE-GREEN. -- It's not like I really *have* the ROOM for IT, BUT, I've GOT to SNEAK the YARN into the HOUSE "someHOW"!

Meanwhile, I also found some "Space" in My Over-Flowing-CART for THIS GUY! - He was all-by-His-lonesome on a Shelf in the "EASTER-CLEARANCE"-Section.



CPL.TAT-MOM is a *huge* SCOOBY FAN and CADET-JUNIOR *Loves* His DOGS! -- I just couldn't *NOT* Get IT!!



ANYHOO... I spent way TOO much Time over There, HAD to get to MICHAEL'S...

Since I HADN'T expected to Buy ALL of That COTTON-YARN, I *HAD* to
"LIMIT" Myself with any FURTHER YARNish-Purchases!


But, hey, I *had* a COUPON... HAD to get at Least ONE-BALL! -- And Then, I came across ALL of THIS "ON-SALE" EASTER-STUFF...



The Hard-Plastic EGG-TRAYS looked to be Useful for Other Things...

And, I *should* have gotten *more* of Those CHECKERED-BAGS. THEY *Match* My BLANKETS!



Also ran into MANAGER-DAVE... We Chatted and Talked "BIG-BALL-COTTON-YARN"... And, apparently, at SOME "SECRET" Time THIS WEEK, The-BIG-BOSS is supposed to VISIT..??
-- I'd sure Like to get 5-Minutes of "CUSTOMER-FEEDBACK"-Time with THAT GUY!!

Ended up spending MORE Time than I had "PLANNED" over There... GROCERIES needed to be GOTTEN!

BUT, First... A *SIDE-TRIP* to CANADIAN-TIRE to Check-Out SOFT-SIDE-COOLERS Prices... WALMART didn't have the Size or Type that I wanted for the Price that I was willing to Pay.

AH! - Found ONE! - ON-SALE, too! - A bit *Different* from WHAT I was Looking FOR, however, the Volume-Size and *Price* are RIGHT! And, I DO *need* ONE. "NOW"! -- Speaking of which, I had to go get those FROZEN-GROCERIES that were Waiting to Fill IT!

AFTER the TWO-FOOD-STOPS, I made My way to THE MALL... MORE FOOD and Other Perusings... And, ON-SALE-EASTER-STUFF...

okay... Allow Me to *PREFACE* THIS PURCHASE with a Few "FACTS"...

FIRST -- I'm really *not* a huge "POOH" Fan... per se...

SECOND -- I absolutely, *positively* ABHOR "POUTINE"!!! - Even the "Word" makes Me *Cringe*!

THIRD -- However, I DO like "TINS"...


SO... When I spotted THIS Lone-Amongst-OTHER-Types-of-PAILS on the SALES-Shelf, *HOW*
could I not *RESIST* Getting the "POOH"-TIN..?!!

I Escaped From The Laneway...

BUT ONLY GOT AS FAR AS **IKEA**!!

oh-kaay... *NOTHING* Falling OUT of The SKY, except SUNLIGHT!! My Cue to TAKE OFF!!

I *really* SHOULD have Started My little Sojourn *much* SOONER in the Day, as I didn't get to Leave until 2pm!! -- Checking out BUS Routes Online at 3am will do that - And, SLEEPING *IN*!
And, just taking One's "sweet time"!

Sooo... The *NEW* MEGA-SUPER-SIZED "IKEA" -- rumoured to be the Largest in NORTH AMERICA..?? -- In "Parking" and "Warehouse" Sections probably. As to the Rest, I have to Wonder...

Anyway, 2-Buses to get There - [through Areas that I have not travelled in AGES!!] - then a 10-Minute Walk over the Freeway Overpass, across wide Intersections, around some new Construction, Helped SOME-YOUNG-GIRL with BusStop directions -- That sort of thing *never* fails! Lucky for Her that I had the "Maps" burned into My Brain, as I haven't BEEN to THIS SPOT in Several Years!!

IT's a **BIG** BLUE BUILDING! -- Although, not as Aesthetically Pleasing on the Outside, as the One in VANCOUVER that SISTER-S took Me to Years ago... [just saying...]

Lots of OPEN Space... I probably *should* have taken a Cart instead of a "Bag", as the weight of My Jacket in My Knapsack soon became *uncomfortable*. And, there weren't any Carts Upstairs...

Since it was 3pm-ish and I *needed* to be Done *before* 4:30-Sundown, I didn't really Linger through the Display Areas. I concentrated more on the "Basket" Items... I had to CARRY What I Would BUY!!

In the Dining Room Section, I spotted what looked like TEA-TOWELS[?] draped over some Chairs.
An Ivory-Cotton-Linen[?] with Old-Ships printed on Them. Rather lovely looking... I asked a CLERK about Them - She said that They had been "made-up" from some of the Store's FABRIC. Which, I discovered later in the somewhat "limited" Fabric Section, NOT to be Found!

..crap... I *really* liked IT!

Moving on... MORE "Cool" Stuff that required a "Vehicle" to Transport. Not to mention, SPACE in the House to PUT Them! -- I was Trolling about with My Empty-BAG for quite a while... The
"Emphasis" at This Location, appears to be on the Larger "Installation"-Is-Required Items, rather than an abundance of Smaller Ones. -- At least, that was My "Impression".

Eventually, I ran into THESE GUYS!!

THEY were kinda Cute, Average-Priced, and LIGHT-WEIGHT!! -- I just Hope that THE KIDS don't *already* Have THEM!

BTW, the Children's Section also seemed "Lacking" from Previous Years. The Plushy-VEGETABLES were "Novel".

However, WHAT'S-WITH-The-STUFFED-**RATS**!!?? -- For REAL?! -- They aren't even Nice-looking... I have "Flushed" *cuter* Mice!

Seriously, This CITY has had *enough* "Problems" with Rodents in the Past Year because of the Excess RAIN last Spring. The LAST Thing We need to do, is to Teach Our Children that these Vermin are Cute-Cuddly-PETS!! -- "MICKEY", These Toys were NOT!

Next, it was Time to head Downstairs again to the "Market" Section... I picked up some Northern-Wildlife-COOKIE-CUTTERS and Silicon CUPCAKE-CUPS for MOTHER.

Then, it was past the Cavernous-Large-Enough-To-Make-Studio-Executives-Jealous-"Warehouse"-Section toward CHECKOUT... hmm... No more nice thick Clear Bags. You have to Buy Their Baggy-BAGS if You didn't bring any... Good thing that I've got the Knapsack, huh? Gonna have to Squish the poor PUPPIES though.

NOW. Gotta find My Way OUT of Here!!

I ended up "exploring" more of the Covered-Parking-Lot than I would have *liked*! But, EVENTUALLY, found Access to the Side-Street where I needed to BE to get My RETURN-Buses. Despite the Rush-Hour, I think That Journey took *less* Time!

..Well, except for the Part where I snuck into THE MALL to pick-up a few Things, and ended up Waiting 20-Minutes in the Cold for the Local-Bus that was over 10-Minutes Late!

My Feet hurt...

..UNTIL "AUNTIE'S" *BIG DAY*!! -- PROGENY and Their Plushy-Pets are SITTING-BY...

"..So. What's the *real* scoop, huh? Is SHE *really* THAT OLD?"
"Seriously, DOG?! I've only been Here 8 Weeks, remember? How the poop should I *know*!?!
-- uh-oh! I think SHE's just BLOOGed US!!"

Meanwhile... I filled the Remaining Time with the USUAL Shoveling-DURING-a-Snowfall... Mind you, IT was LESS and Drier than anticipated - a GOOD THING! -- However, Temps were still COOL,
so absolutely NO ICE-Breakage was even *remotely* possible!

The WINDCHILL is around -14C at the moment... So, even WITH the coming RAIN, it's highly DOUBTFUL that *any* significant ICE REMOVAL will be Achieved Tomorrow!

You know... *having* to SHOVEL on One's BIRTHDAY, truly **SUCKS**!! -- Almost, as much as Thinking that Wishing-Someone-Would-Remove-The-SNOWBANK would be a Great GIFT!!?

-- I'm really getting TOO "Old" for This SH*T!

Venturing Into The VILLAGE...

HALF-PRICE DAY at VALUE VILLAGE!! MOTHER *wanted* to be There!!

And, despite the Crispness, IT was a lovely Gorgeous Day! ...Once, One got "past" the Retinal-Damaging-Laser-Blinding-SUNLIGHT! - [..oh, yeah! Definitely a *massive* Hole in the Ozone-Layer floating around *This* Part of The PLANET!]

We eventually got There around 1-ish... Just at the Right Time to FIND Parking! Only stayed about an Hour - had OTHER Stuff to DO! -- Overall, I didn't really See Anything "exciting" in CLOTHING. Neither did MOTHER, who was in Search of Particular Items... We only found One that suited Her Criteria.

As for Myself, I like to scavenge for Things that I can "repurpose"... Or, get "Crafty" with... FOUND THIS STUFF --

[ABOVE] - I believe THIS is LINEN. Heavy with a Loose-Weave. About
2-Yards. - $3. - Would probably make Great little CURTAINS for a Kitchen or Breakfast-Nook Window? Or, even "Summer" Throw-Pillow COVERS.


[LEFT] - Just over a Yard - $2. - Feels like a WOOL GABARDINE..? And, This IS the Actual Shade of Lavender! -- I'm "thinking" about FELTING some of IT... [I'll have to do a Test-Swatch] - Whatever, I'll find SOMEthing to DO with IT!!

For just 50-CENTS, I *couldn't* RESIST THIS Wonderfully-done NEEDLEPOINT CANVAS!!

IT Reminds Me sooo much of CPL.TAT-BABE's "PUPPY-NATOR"! -- Despite being a slightly Different Breed and Colour...

No matter, I'll have to SEARCH My STASH
to see IF I can Find *enough* of the Same Dye Lot of
"Whatever" Colour that will go with This to Finish up the Background.





Another - $2. - Item... I spotted One of Store-Clerks putting THIS - [BELOW] - onto the Racks... GRABBED IT before Anyone Else could! -- HAND-KNITTED, WOOL, COCONUT-Buttons! Child-Size... Would eventually Fit LITTLE PRINCESS BIG-RED..? -- IT would also be great to Felt, however, being
HAND-done, I'd Feel "Guilty" about "messing" with Someone Else's  Meticulously HARD-WORKED CREATION!

Afterward, We headed over to THE BIG MALL... Had an Errand to run There. It was getting Late, so We only had Time to "Browse" the New "CHRISTMAS" Display at THE BAY. -- They have some really CUTE "Crafty" ORNAMENTS This Year! CHECK Them out!

Then, it was a quick Grocery-Getting Moment, and HOME *before* Sundown!

Stick some Velcro on ITS Butt. ATTACH Him to a Headband, and VOILA! - "PUPPY FASTENATOR"!!














Thankfully, it turned out to be HALF DECENT DAY! Misty-Cloudy earlier on, but Sunny later, and Temps were Warm - just like it's *suppose* to BE in MAY! And, where once were "Glaciers", many Things "Botanical" are popping up!

Anyway... Spent most of the Day doing Last Minute "stuff" while *waiting* for SISTER and BIG-D to arrive. Which, wasn't until after 7pm! And then, THEY were only Here for LESS than an Hour. THEY still had to go to CARLETON PLACE [40 Minutes away] to drop off Stuff, Say HI to The PRINCESSES, and then, continue ON to KINGSTON [another Hour-ish] to Deliver The PUPPY!

After THEIR Overnight *Visit* with CPL. TAT-BABE, THEY'll be headed Back - sans Pooch - to CARLETON PLACE! -- It's a LONG WEEKEND in CANADA... So, The GAME PLAN is, THEY'll be over Here on Monday with The PRINCESSES for a LONG Awaited VISIT!!
