• NOT that it "matters", AS I only PAID $10. for IT!! - [I found only ONE on EBAY. "Clean", but with NO LADDLE. Their "PRICE"... $249.99!!]
• And, have SEVERAL *OTHER* ITEMS to GO with IT!

ALTHOUGH I'M SURE, EACH ONE HAS THEIR OWN "UNIQUE" STORY TO TELL...

Prior to My TOME-TOTEM Stacking at YESTERDAY's ESTATE SALE, THIS 4-Inch MILKGLASS VASE was My "FIRST-PICK"! -- Needless to say, ITS Novel-Design made the "handling" of IT considerably SAFER during My Juggling-STRUGGLES with that FIRST-LOAD of BOOKS!

WORTH the DOLLAR-Price-TAG! -- And, I suspect that IT's also an *Older* PIECE..?

The - BELOW - "BOMBAY-COMPANY"-Made WRITING-LETTER-BOX had been *beneath* the VASE... When I Returned for "ROUND-TWO", I *snatched* IT up for Another DOLLAR!

Granted, IT could DO with some *serious* "SURFACE"-REPAIR to the Veneers, otherwise, IT's still in Sturdy-Condition! -- HOWEVER, I'd certainly Like to KNOW *HOW* the DAMAGE had Occurred..?! - The SIDES are *Fine*, yet the INSIDE BOTTOM looks almost AS *bad* as the OUTSIDE...

I still have to take a *better* LOOK at IT... IT's a toss-up between WATER-Damage and/or EXTREME-HEAT-EXPOSURE..? -- whatever... IT's still USEFUL!

MEANWHILE, in the GARAGE... I came across THIS *OLD* HANDSAW!

Another *Handy*-DOLLAR-FIND! -- I Love Finding VINTAGE TOOLS... Most Times, Their "QUALITY" is well ABOVE that of Their MODERN-Day-Counterparts!

AFTERWARD, We popped into The SALLY-ANN, where I Discovered THIS *CLEAN*-Condition KNITTING-NEEDLE HOLDER...

*WITH*, ELEVEN-PAIRS of BAMBOO-NEEDLES!! -- IT was just under $4. -- At *That* Price, HAD They been METAL or PLASTIC, I certainly would have "Passed". - BUT, "BAMBOO"...

Despite My Personal-Preference, to NOT Use such GUARANTEED-to-*SNAP*-Between-My-Fingers "Utensils", OTHERS swear by Them! -- Who knows, perhaps I'll Find a for THEM..?!

Anyhoo... A Fair-Sized LIMB is now MISSING from the JUNIPER-TREE and, no longer Leaning against the Roof. -- And, THANKFULLY, *didn't* cause any DAMAGE on the Way DOWN!

Although, I SUSPECT that a Number of the LOCAL-FAUNA will be a tad Peeved!?!

..So, AFTER Our "scavenge" Yesterday of the "FREE"-YARD-SALE - [SEE 18MAY2013 POST] - We came across a "REGULAR"-ONE... With LOTS of "Stuff"...

Oooo... An AMETHYST GLASS "ROSE" CANDLEHOLDER... Not that I plan on using IT as One. I just Love the GLASS! - And, *COLOUR*!!

oh. hey... Isn't that LITTLE-OLD-ASIAN-NEIGHBOUR helping to "Run" the SALE..?? - It IS...

She lives a Street Over from Us and is always Helping and "Hosting" YARD-SALES for Her FRIENDS. -- Actually, We've been to THIS PLACE *before*! -- She also "Shows-Up" at MANY of the SAME CRAFT SHOWS that We "DO"...

Anyway, I Spotted This BAG of PURPLE-BLUE "AUSTRALIAN MERINO" ROVING YARN in a Box, along with some Other COTTON-YARN that I was "Considering"...

BTW, This is a POST-Purchase-PIC!

Which, was the point *when* She began Her "Sales-PITCHING".


And, had THIS GINORMOUS BAG of YARN brought OUT!

-- For $20. the WHOLE THING could be "MINE"...






















However, WHAT Interested Me *most* of ITS "Contents" were the - [BELOW] - 10-BALLS of *PEACOCK-TEAL* ICELANDIC "LOPI" WOOL!!

The BULK of the OTHER YARN was made up of THESE 3-PACKAGES of PATONS "CANADIANA" YARN -- 29-BALLS of "ACRYLIC" - [as well as a Few Other ODD-BALLS] - that I really DON'T Need, despite Their *still* Packaged Condition and Great COLOUR...

And, YES! - I *am* an Absolute *Total*

 "100%-NATURAL-FIBER"-ONLY-Yarn-SNOB!!

BUT, if *only* to KEEP LITTLE-OLD-"Let's-Make-A-Deal"-ASIAN-NEIGHBOUR "Happy", I Agreed to Accept the $20.-Price-Tagged *ENTIRE* BAG, *IF*, I could ALSO get the ROVING and GLASS-"ROSE" thrown IN..?!! -- Her YARD-SALE-FRIEND Confirmed the "DEAL"!

NOW, I just had to Figure-Out on *HOW* I was going to SNEAK that over 4-KILO BAG-of-YARN "into" the HOUSE, PAST FATHER!?! -- hmm... Perhaps, WHEN He's "Distracted" by MOTHER's SHINY-*FREE*-GLASS-STUFF..??

Anyhoo... I suppose that I'll have to do *something* with that 3-KILOS of ACRYLIC!

"Bargain"-JADED by **FREE** STUFF!!

A **FREE** YARD-SALE..??!! - hmm... Gonna be NO Space LEFT in My CAR, once MOTHER gets DONE!

right. so... IT's *THE* "PERFECT" Day OUT! - SUNNY. With, just the Pleasant-Proper-TEMPS! -- And of course, We LEFT the HOUSE *LATE*!! Nevertheless, We scooted on over to BEACON HILL with "hopes" that there might be *some* YARD-SALES still "OPEN"..?

ah! "SIGNS"!! -- But, WHY does *THAT*-One say "FREE"?? -- whatever... We whipped on over!

Only a couple of Tables remaining, HOWEVER, EVERYTHING on Them *was* actually FREE!! -- The RATHER-GENEROUS-FOLKS there were apparently doing some serious DOWN-sizing!

We took a LOOK around to "Assist" THEM in That-EFFORT and, to give THEIR *STUFF* a "GOOD-HOME"!

COOL! -- I've been Hoping to come across One of THESE! And, This GLASS CEILING-LAMP-SHADE really is an Older ONE! - IT still has the Original BRASS CHAINS - [these are actually in Backward so that They wouldn't slip out] - Although, THEY need to be Replaced, as I really wouldn't "trust" Their Condition to handle the GLASS-Weight any longer. Otherwise, the 12-Inch SHADE is in GREAT-Shape!!

I already have a Couple of Similar Textured-BOWLS in GREEN... Can't remember seeing One in YELLOW before... However, the SUNFLOWER Motif is quite Nice -- IT's almost a shame to actually put Anything INTO the BOWL to "cover" IT up!

And then, there was This Little CHINESE TEA-CUP... Just a cheap itty-bitty-Thing, but, IT *was* "BLUE & WHITE"... AND, oh yeah, *FREE*! - Besides, how could I say "no" to the Cool DRAGON on the Bottom?!

Anyhoo, MOTHER gathered a Bunch of OTHER Glassy ITEMS that I had passed on... And, also had Her Eye on a Small DESK..? - *Fortunately*, IT would NOT "FIT" into The CAR, thus, was subsequently, *SAVED* from being SUBJECTED to an UNworthy FATE on Our PORCH!!

EVENTUALLY, We took Our Now-"SPENDING"-*SPOILED*-Selves away to the NEXT "SALE"...

WHICH, I will Elaborate on TOMORROW! -- As, I *still* have to go THROUGH My PRIMARY-PURCHASE to Checkout exactly "WHAT" and how MUCH that I **GOT**!?! -- NOT to Worry though, IT was a GREAT-"DEAL", despite *not* being "FREE"!

The *Contents* of "THE BOX" of BARGAINS -- Part 2...

BUT FIRST... An ITEM that *wasn't* in "THE BOX".

As it happens, This EMBROIDERY KIT ended up being My *LAST* Purchase-of-the-Day for only a DOLLAR!

Initially, it was the THREAD-COLOUR that caught My Eye... However, I'm somewhat "TEMPTED" to actually - SOME DAY, *maybe* - "DO" This KIT! -- To be Honest, I've NEVER Done ONE of This TYPE before - [with Threads INcluded]...

Although IT's been DECADES, "THIS" - [BELOW] - is the Version that I'm *more* Familiar with... This TAPESTRY "KIT" *was* in "THE BOX"!

IT has TWO PATTERNS... The SECOND One was never Started and I actually prefer IT. -- I would try to Finish up This FIRST One, but, the STITCHING-TENSION on IT is *WARPED*! - I don't think the PERSON Who began IT, used a Proper HOOP to Secure the WORK..? And, the BACK-SIDE STITCHES are kinda Weird-Looking, too...

*IF*, I "ever do" DO the OTHER ONE, I might just consider taking THIS ONE "apart" and RE-do IT..?

Anyway... An additional "CURIOSITY" about IT -- The *DESIGN* has a *1942* COPYRIGHT, yet, the SCREEN and WOOL-YARN are near PRISTINE..?! -- So. Either IT's all been Remarkably PRESERVED or, the "MATERIALS" were more "Recently" acquired!?

The YARN is apparently "U.K." Made -- So, IF Any of YOU from THERE happen to Recognize IT and can place a "Time-PERIOD" on IT - PLEASE - let Me KNOW!

MEANWHILE... A Couple of OTHER "THE BOX" ITEMS...

I Love the SHADE of This BLUE BOTTLE! As well as that "COIL"-Design. The Other VASE's SMOKY-EVERGREEN HUE was also *most* APPEALING!

Bought a BASKET of BARGAINS!!

oh! -- AND, "YARN", OF COURSE!!

It was Coolish and DRIZZLY *when* WE-FINALLY-LEFT-THE-HOUSE! -- A Local High School had an INDOOR "Garage"-SALE going on, but We didn't know the "Hours"... Usually, THESE Events go until NOON or ONE-ish - and it was 11:30!

And-oh-LOOK, I'm getting EVERY-RED-LIGHT-ALONG-THE-WAY!?! -- You know, My "HOROSCOPE" for Today had "mentioned" Something about "STAYING HOME"..??

whatever. -- We GET There. Only a FEW Cars in the Parking-Lot -- *Not* Encouraging... However, the "SIGN" does Say "10 to 2"! -- We're Good.

IT's in One of the Gyms... Plenty of "TABLES", although I had expected a bit MORE *on* Them... And, only a Couple of OTHER-CUSTOMERS... Time to go into "SCOUR & SHOP"-Mode!

I can NOT *Believe* that My "FIRST-PICK" of This FAB-Really-GOOD-Quality WIRE-BASKET turned out to be a "ZEN"-Item!! - [a PRIZE-Object waiting Hours for *ME* to Purchase IT] - Especially, when IT was *just* a DOLLAR!!

The *more* I look at IT Now, the MORE I Love IT! -- I'm going to *have to* Use IT for My CRAFT-SHOWS. IT's *Perfect*! - Even the Bottom-Pattern MATCHES My BLANKETS!

Found This 6-Inch GREEK-Made BLUE-WHITE CERAMIC TILE next -- 10-Cents!

Then, This CERAMIC SEAFOOD-VEGGIES-CHIPS & DIPS BOWL -- $2. -- But, IT's Large and Heavy and I DO "Collect" FISHY-SHELL-NAUTICAL Stuff...

Across the Room, This Cute and rather THICK-Walled 3-Inch BLUE-WHITE CLAY POT was just *Waiting* for My Retail-RESCUE! -- 50-Cents...

And, seeing as I was on a BLUE and/or WHITE Roll, I grabbed This COILED BLUE GLASS DISH... BTW, the 25-Cent TAG didn't hurt, either...



Granted, IT's not the "highest" of Quality, but I Liked the Colour and have a *Thing* for GLASS.




Besides, IT was Our FIRST "SALE" of the Season. And, a FUND-RAISER.


Bottomline, I *am* HAPPY with My "HAUL"!







The DRIZZLE stopped... BEACON-HILL was nearby, so on the OFF-Chance that SOMEONE
might be having an "actual" GARAGE-Sale, We decided to do a quick TROLL of the Neighbourhood... Nothing.

Before Leaving the Area, We popped into The SALLY-ANN over There... THEY were Scheduled to have Their Monthly-AUCTION at 2, however, We had OTHER-PLACES-TO-BE.
-- Not to mention, there really wasn't ANYTHING that I was in Need of...


Since IT was on Our Route, We did THE MALL Stop FIRST, before getting to TRAINYARDS.

And THIS, is where I had My Second ZEN-"MOMENT" of the Day! -- Guess *WHO* We "ran-into" at the Grocery-Store??

Why IT's none other than MANAGER-DAVE!!?! -- *AND*, the Quite-Pretty-and-Lovely-Who-We've-NOT-Met-*Yet*-"MRS."-MANAGER-DAVE!! -- ah. The POOR Man... EVEN on His Days-Off, He *can't* ESCAPE Us! -- We continued with OUR "Shopping"...

EVENTUALLY, We reached TRAINYARDS...

That HANDICRAFTER-COTTON YARN was still ON-SALE - just, NOT as Much as I *would* have Preferred! -- Had to Invoke the Powers of My COUPON-STASH to Remedy THAT "Problem"... Which, meant that I had to Buy MORE than I had originally intended.

well... NOT to Worry. I wanted THAT Colour ANYWAY!




Got 2 of the MIXED-One and 8 of the NAVY. -- That *should* be ENOUGH to Finish the "BLANKET". -- And, 20 of the BROWN... A much sought after HUE that Seldom shows up "ON-Shelf" around Here. Just thought I'd STOCK-UP...


The "MONROE" NOTEPADS were also Reduced -- PRINCESSES'-MOM is a "FAN"...

HEY!! -- The SUN is *OUT*!! -- WOOHOO!!
