what?! -- Were THEY AFRAID that *IT* would get "LOST" in the MAIL..??!!

OR, JUST RUN OUT OF *NORMAL*-SIZED ENVELOPES..??!

-- seriously? - Using a 12"x16"-ish ENVELOPE for My Latest a-tad-on-the-THIN-side "AMERICAN" DECOR-MAG?

On occasion, IT arrives *via* THEIR "CANADIAN" DISTRIBUTOR - [cheaper for THEM]. Although, more often, IT comes Directly from the U.S. - [not so cheaply for THEM!]. However, I don't EVER Recall Receiving IT in the ?NEWSPAPER?-*Size* Packaging..?

IT's almost big enough to Put GROCERIES *into*!

ANYHOO... At least getting the MAG Today, gave Me *Something* ENTERTAINING to Read *instead* of the OTHER LESS-Desired-POSTAL-Pickings!

IT's still COOL This Week... Partially CLOUDY again, with a Strong-Steady-WIND! -- So, of COURSE, One of the HOUSES-just-Down-the-Street was having Their ROOF *DONE*!! Fortunately, that WIND *wasn't* Blowing OUR Way!

Meanwhile, I had a "MILK"-RUN to COSTCO to do. Then, a Visit to THE MALL... Nothing "NOTE"-worthy going on at EITHER Location! - Just the Regular BORING GROCERY-GETTING and trying to keep Ahead of the RUSH-HOUR-TRAFFIC...

"AUNTIE"-I-Have-*NO*-"LIFE", remember..? -- "CLUE"-IN, KIDS, an OVER-SIZED *ENVELOPE* was the "UNIQUE"-HIGH-Point of My DAY!?!

..just some Cool "FOLKS" and...

...THE NEW C.H.I.P.-of-the-WEEK...

How EVER IT turns "out", I'll likely be KEEPING THIS ONE for Myself... As, at this Point, IT's still an "EXPERIMENT" on HOW-*FAR*-WILL-A-BALL-OF-THE-NEW-YARN-GO..?

ANYHOO... WHILST I work on THAT, You might Like to Pop-On-Over to One of BLOOG-BUDDY,
"KRISTIN NICHOLAS'" more Recent POSTS...

http://getting-stitched-on-the-farm.blogspot.com/2013/03/spring-issue-of-folk-magazine-feature.html

There's a LINK over There to an E-ISSUE of "FOLK MAGAZINE"... IT has a Great ARTICLE on KRISTIN and, some OTHER PEOPLE... And, Lots of *COOL* PICS, Recipes... Definitely, *worth* the Peruse!

Some "PLUM"-Purchases...

SO, "APPARENTLY", **PURPLES** ARE BACK "IN VOGUE" FOR THIS FALL..? -- huh. As far as I'm Concerned. *THEY* NEVER "LEFT"!!

Whatever, according to My THICK-New-OCTOBER-Issue of CANADIAN HOUSE AND HOME, the COLOUR-PURPLE is *THE* SHADE-of-the-SEASON!

-- Actually, IT was a Refreshing-READ for a change - FULL of more "CLASSIC" DESIGNS instead of the usual OVERWHELMING-WEIRD-WHIM-of-the-WEEK Stuff.

Oooo... AND, the *new* AUTUMN "EQ3" CATALOGUE arrived with IT, as well!!
-- YAY!!

MEANWHILE... "TRAINYARDS"-TUESDAY!!

yeah, yeah...I know... I *should* be RIBBONned-OUT by NOW! -- BUT... "3-for-$1." - HOW could I Say, "NO"..?! - OH! And, PLUS the MICHAEL'S "TUESDAY SENIORS' DISCOUNT"!!

BTW, there are 7-more "Doubles"...

Those CERAMIC COASTERS were also still ON-SALE,
so I picked-up a Couple Extra...

ONE can NEVER have "too" Many!

The MONOGRAM-NOTEPADS have Magnets -- at 81-Cents [plus Tax], THEY were somewhat
"Colourful"...

Only had ONE
"COUPON" This Week. - I think This SHADE of YARN is "NEW" for the Store..?

-- ITS got little BLUE-FLECKS. Ought be Interesting to *work* with...

On My Way ACROSS the YARDS toward WALMART - [where I ended up NOT buying ANYthing!] - I decided to Check-out The BOMBAY COMPANY and BOWRING.
-- BOTH, had "SALES" going on.

BOMBAY first...

ahh... Their "BLUE & WHITE" CHINA has been moved "up-front".

 -- Oooo!! A NEW
"BALL"!!

A *BIG* BALL!!
- [5-Inches] - that turned out to be HALF-PRICE!?!

-- SWEET!

A NEW-BIG-*BARGAIN*-BALL!!

NOTHING at BOWRING.

After Striking-Out at WALMART, I headed HOMEWARD - [VIA some GROCERY-GETTING...] - to be Met with the afore-mentioned PUBLICATION-of-PLUMish-PREDICTIONS!

2-Weeks OVER-DUE... I Was Just About To CALL!

BUT ALAS, MY SEPTEMBER ISSUE OF "STYLE AT HOME" HAS *FINALLY* ARRIVED!!

-- WITH My SUBSCRIPTION-RENEWAL-*FREE-GIFT*-TOTEBAG!!

IT IS a bit on the BRIGHT-side! -- I am SO really NOT a "HOT-PINK"-Person!

But, hey... A "FREE BAG" is a **FREE**-BAG!!

RIGHT??

And, IT is Large enough to HOLD STUFF...

Although, to be quite
Honest, the LAST ONE I Received from THEM Two-Years Ago - [SEE 30AUG2010 POST] - was of much BETTER QUALITY!

I *still* USE IT!

The TURQUOISE Colour "goes" with more of My WARDROBE! And, IT'S Little-Carry-POUCH also has ITS Uses!

-- The SNAP on THIS NEW ONE **BROKE**!!

I might have to Pack IT along side of The OTHER-ONE...

YAY!! IT'S ARRIVED!!

I'VE BEEN WONDERING ABOUT *IF* AND *WHEN* IT MIGHT "SHOW-UP"..?!!

http://onlinecataloguecanada.ikea.com/CA/en/IKEA_Catalogue

Oooo!! THEY've Restocked that COTTON-LINEN FABRIC with the SAILING SHIPS
on IT!! - WOOHOO!! -- hmm... I'm going to HAVE TO make a "TRIP" Out THERE again
- *SOON*!!

Well. SO... Except for the HUMIDITY, the Day was almost "DRY". And, *mostly* SUNNY. -- Just HOPE that IT'll "Continue" for Tomorrow..? -- At least, UNTIL, MOTHER and I "Return" from Our POSSIBLE-PURCHASE-PERUSAL-PLANS! Or else, SHE will sure to be somewhat "P*SSED"!! - [just warning...]

ANYWAY, I stayed "COOL" by spending an Hour or so, CHIPPING-ICE-OFF the
"FREEZER"-Part of My OLD-MINI-FRIDGE! - There's still a LOT more ICE left, BUT, I can only allow "so-much" to MELT at a Time... I wouldn't want IT to FLOOD and/or SHORT-OUT the THERMOSTAT!

OTHERWISE, *HOW* else would I KEEP My DR.PEPPERs COLD..??!!

-- "PRIORITIES", eh??!

Many More MAGS, MELT-water, and Oooo, I Get To KEEP *The METAL SHOVEL*!!

**YESSSS**!!!

Well... all of those Spots where I had Removed ICE, Yesterday, have been slowly REFILLING with MELTWATER. Fortunately, the Wind helped in Drying IT up somewhat... However, I'm Pondering on moving some of the Snowbank-Edge BACK, further ONTO the Lawn. AWAY from the Front-Walkway... I need to CONTROL the MELT Amounts!

Once again, MADAME-Q brought over *another* PILE of MAGS! And, Birdseed for MOTHER... I'm sure that the SQUIRRELS will *enjoy* IT!

-- As well as, She passed on Future-OWNERSHIP of Her METAL-SHOVEL!! - [WooHoo!! Now I don't have to embezzle FATHER's CANADIAN-TIRE-MONEY!]

Anyhoo... I spent the Afternoon flipping through Today's Literary Assortment... I really *should* be taking NOTES! -- I'm coming across some Intriguing Stuff!

"TANGERINE ORANGE" is suppose to be THIS Year's "BIG" Colour..?? -- Well, apparently, ORANGES were Hot-Stuff a "Decade" AGO, too!  -- hmm... It makes Me wonder as to exactly how *diverse* IS that "CRAYOLA"-esque DECOR-COLOUR-WHEEL..??!!

In the Meantime, the HARD PART, will be finding the PROPER "Complimentary"-Colours to *BALANCE* out said HUE! -- Various Shades of PURPLE and VIOLET come to Mind. Perhaps NAVY? FLAXEN Tones are also good...

In addition, "PINKS" **MUST-BE-AVOIDED-AT-ALL-COSTS**!!
-- Seriously! I've already *Lived* through "THE 60s" once! ...I'm having Retinal-Damaging-Chromatic-Flashbacks just Thinking about THAT "Combo"! eeuwww!!

**HAPPY B-DAY, PRINCESS LAST-YEAR-OF-PRE-TEEN-NESS**!!

When SHE was a not-so-Tiny *4*!

I FEEL SOOO ANCIENT!!

My #1 Fellow-AQUARIAN-"Millennium"-Great-Niece-BABY is a now AS-TALL-AS-ME "grown-up" **12**!!

Where *did* The New-Century go?!

As for "Today", though, additional *productive* CHOPPING was accomplished! The Temps remained HIGH enough Overnight, to *soften* up the ICE - *much* Removal was ACHIEVED! -- I just wish that IT had been SUNNY out... "Birthdays" shouldn't be Overcast! ...IT's just NOT as Enjoyable, you know?..

Later, I spent some Time Perusing part of the 20-Pound [I'm sure!] STACK of those Decor Mags that MADAME-Q had hauled over this Morning. Old ISSUES of the currently "Defunct" Publications of "COUNTRY HOME" [no longer IN PRINT but the WEBSITE is still working] - and "CANADIAN HOME & COUNTRY" [has been "absorbed" by STYLE AT HOME].

DESPITE being a Half-Decade and Older, and probably deemed by *most* "DECORistas" as being
"..currently, TREND-LESS..", there are MANY "CLASSIC" ELEMENTS *still* to be Found within Their PAGES!! -- I've already been *INSPIRED* by several Colour-Combo and Textural Examples!

STAY TUNED!!

hang on a sec..?! - [INSERT Raised brow of annoyance and surprise...] - **WHY** is there a
"dusting" of WHITENESS on My Laneway..? -- There *wasn't* suppose to *be* ANY Snow Last Night!! - [INSERT Additional grimace and grumbling...]

Well... At least, My MAIL was *considerably* BETTER!! -- Received Something that I was Hoping FOR! And, My February Issue of COUNTRY LIVING! YAY!

FAST FORWARD to after an Hour & a bit of Scraping, TO Checking-Out The "WHITE" Issue!

Which, is almost a Misnomer in a way, as there appears to be an Equal amount of BROWNS, GREYS, BLACK, MUTED GREENS and BLUES... But, NO matter! -- I Enjoyed the Simplicity of IT all... And THEN, I came across Pages 94 to 99...

Hook, Yarn, and TRENDING...

ALAS! Received the FIRST of the Postal-Strike-Delayed Decor Mags Today!

CANADIAN HOUSE AND HOME - August 2011

IT's a little on the THIN side... just saying...

So. I just did a quickie Peruse through IT... And, only managed to "borrow" a Couple of Pics from Their Website - *Fortunately*, THIS was ONE of Them!

Seriously...

In this Current 30C-plus HUMID Weather, WHO could **RESIST** "CHOCOLATE CHIP ICE CREAM SANDWICHES"??!!

-- Ooooo! Or, those Blueberries and Raspberries in the Background..?

Anyway... As per The COVER Blurp, the LAMP Selection was quite GOOD. Several "interesting" Choices.

However, What really caught My Eye...
This ISSUE's TRENDWATCH Subject - CROCHET!!

I LOVE The CHAIR! And, Those BOOTS are wickedly COOL! -- BTW, be sure to CHECK OUT that Circular RUG - [Upper Right on the Page-Pic] - at...

Meanwhile, this all "inspired" Me to whip up The LITTLE GUY on the LEFT...
