RE-Filling "The VOID" -- PART TWO

...WITH THE "OTHER"-YARD-SALE *STUFF*!!

PREVIOUSLY to Our heading over to the G.E.F.C. Annual YARD SALE, We gave OUR NEIGHBOURHOOD a Quickie-SHOP-TOUR...

In a nearby "CUL", I picked-up THIS *Brand-New* CURTAIN SWING-RODS SET for a *STEAL*-Price of $1.50!!

Check the OLD Price-Stickers...

-- IT was "originally" $49.99!!

I've been Wanting some of THESE...

AFTER the G.E.F.C. Annual YARD SALE, BEACON HILL was Next...

The Oil-Brushed BRASS DRAWER-PULLS
- [ABOVE-RIGHT] - were Acquired for 50-Cents, along with THIS DARK-BLUE LEATHER FRAME. - Also, 50-Cents!

IT matches the RED-BROWN One I got Last Year - [SEE 04JUN2011 POST]. And, will go Perfectly with My NAUTICAL STUFF!!

Further into BEACON HILL's Suburban-BLISS, I became Enthralled with THIS *Unique* DOLLAR-Purchased PORCELAIN "CURIO"!

ITS soft MINTY-Colouring is what initially drew My Attentions... And, the Glazing reminds Me of WADE POTTERY. -- From the "BOMBAY COMPANY" Stamp, the overall QUALITY, and "DESIGN", I suspect that IT's an OLD-Piece...

I'm just NOT *certain* as to "WHAT" IT was USED AS..?? -- IT *looks* like a TEAPOT, however, the Pouring-SPOUT is the ONLY Entry-Point into the VESSEL..?! - I also assume that the Specific-Patterns and the MONKEY's Actions are Definite "CLUES"!?!

I kind of "get" the YING-YANG Symbols. And, the use of a MONKEY...sorta... [There's a real BRITISH "Colonial" feel going on with that.] -- And, the Handle looks like "Smoke"..?? BUT, I'm clueLESS about the BATS!?!

Anyway, I'm Curious to LEARN about ITS obviously "CULTURAL"-SYMBOLISMS! -- SO...

IF *ANYONE* "KNOWS" about Their SIGNIFICANCE
 -- PLEASE! -- Leave a COMMENT!!

Meanwhile, at Our LAST "SALE"-STOP,
I was "persuaded" to Purchase THIS Heavy-Cotton BEACH-BAG for 50-Cents!!

I've been to PLAYA DEL CARMEN once, on a Cruise-Stop... YEARS ago!!

SERIOUSLY, WHO *DOESN'T* just LOVE
"HARD ROCK" STUFF??!!

TOMORROW's POST -- The STORE-Bought STUFF!!

  1. Chinese artists have long used five bats to represent the five blessings: health, long life, prosperity, love of virtue, and a tranquil, natural death. The bats often are bright red— the color of joy. Sometimes they encircle a stylized caligraph known as the prosperity symbol. This popular bat motif often was embroidered on expensive clothing to imply that a person's prosperity had resulted from a virtuous lifestyle.

thank you google!! (I knew about the prosperity thing with bats, but the rest of it was news to me too!!)
